Many clients ask, why one or several kinds of waste materials with high oil yield were tested separately when mixed together for pyrolysis, however the average oil yield is low.

The following explanation hopes to help you:

1.All the waste materials in one reactor with thermal reaction, no matter how many kinds of waste materials are processing and what’s the optimum oil temperature of each material, it only can be heated based on a temperature curve, which will definitely cause some waste materials can not be controlled the temperature of oil yield at the optimal oil-out temperature. Then, the average oil yield is affected.

2.The different waste materials with different components that may occur the chemical reaction at high temperature and generate more non-condensable gas or solidified substance, thereby, it will affect the oil yield.

Actually, the mixing of miscellaneous waste materials affecting the oil yield is just one aspect, there may also occur coking, wax deposition, pipe plugging, upward pressure...unknown risks. So, if possible, it’s better process separately the plastic, rubber products and others with different properties that is easy for temperature control and ensure the oil quality.
