I have a customer asked me: "What would be the difference between using Shredded Plastics & Non-Shredded Plastic as the input feedstock? "

The distinction between shredded plastics and non-shredded plastics as input feedstock is crucial in the recycling process, influencing the processing capacity of the plastic pyrolysis machine. 

Shredded plastics, having been mechanically broken down into smaller pieces, which is can make a bigger capacity of the pyrolysis reactor. The advantages of using shredded plastics extend beyond just the increased capacity of the pyrolysis reactor. Shredded plastics typically have a larger surface area compared to their non-shredded counterparts, which facilitates more efficient heat transfer during the pyrolysis process. This improved heat transfer can lead to more uniform heating, ensuring that the plastics break down more completely and produce a higher yield of valuable end products, such as oil and gas. 

Additionally, shredded plastics can help to minimize the risk of clumping, which can occur with larger pieces of plastic, potentially leading to uneven processing and lower quality outputs. However, if shredded, the buyer will invest much more for the shredding machines.

Non-shredded plastics may require additional pre-processing steps, increasing the overall time and cost of recycling operations; some guys maybe directly feed the plastic without shredding or pre-processing, they don't want to invest too much and want to earn money quickly.

Another point, some plastic is hard type like electrical outer shell and acrylic plate, which are big size, if want to feed more quantity, it's better to shred them before feeding. If the input materials are soft type, you can directly feed them into the reactor.

Therefore, shredded plastics or non-shredded plastics, the customer should choose based on the real situation.
